On March 5-6,
2026, the Digital Design and Innovation
program, Faculty of Fine Arts, Suan
Sunandha Rajabhat University, brought
first- to third-year students to Wat
Bang Sakae Lom Prachanukul School in
Samut Songkhram Province. This was part
of the project to learn about Thai art,
local culture, and develop skills in
creating artwork and digital innovation,
providing a learning space for youth
through art and creative
processes.
The project aimed to apply
knowledge in art, design, and digital
innovation to the local cultural context
and wisdom. Students learned from a
real-world setting and participated in
designing activities, sharing knowledge,
and creating works with students,
promoting knowledge exchange among
students, teachers, and
youth.
Following the training,
students gained knowledge and experience
in learning about Thai art, local
culture, and creating works through
hands-on practice. This resulted in the
development of creative thinking, design
skills, collaboration, and the
application of knowledge in art and
digital innovation to real-world
situations. Furthermore, students had
the opportunity to learn about and
experience diverse forms of art, which
helped inspire and stimulate their
interest in art.
This initiative
created a learning space and facilitated
knowledge exchange between the
university, educational institutions,
and the community, promoting
appreciation and awareness of the
importance of local art and culture
among youth. At the same time, students
developed professional skills and work
experience with the community, which can
be further developed in their studies
and future careers. It also serves as a
starting point for building
collaborative networks that can expand
knowledge in art, design, and digital
innovation to continuously and
sustainably develop youth and the
community.
This initiative aligns
with SDG 4: Quality education, promoting
experiential learning and developing
creative thinking skills; SDG 10:
Reducing inequality, supporting
opportunities for youth in the area to
access knowledge in art, design, and
digital innovation through
out-of-classroom learning; SDG 11:
Sustainable cities and communities,
promoting the appreciation and
preservation of local arts, culture, and
identity; and SDG 17: Partnerships for
sustainable development, through
collaboration between universities,
educational institutions, students,
teachers, schoolchildren, and the
community to jointly develop learning
processes and create continuous benefits
for the area.
