On April 1,
2026, students from the Fashion Design
and Styling Department, Faculty of Fine
Arts, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University,
led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chanoknat Mayusoh
and Asst. Prof. Supawadee Chuisukha, met
with H.E. Mr. Darkey Ephraim Africa and
Mrs. Thandiwe Doris Africa, Ambassador
of the Republic of South Africa to
Thailand, and his wife, at the South
African Embassy. The purpose of the
meeting was to discuss the design and
tailoring of Thai silk attire for the
Ambassador and his wife at the 15th Thai
Silk Festival, "Thai Silk on the
Global Stage."
During the
meeting, students presented their design
concepts, finalized their designs, and
conducted detailed measurements in
preparation for the actual garment
production. The resulting designs will
be showcased in a fashion show as part
of the 15th Thai Silk Festival, a key
platform for demonstrating the potential
of Thai silk to an international
audience.
This activity provided
students with valuable practical
experience. Students learned how to work
collaboratively with international
organizations at the embassy, and
developed fashion design skills in a
global context. Furthermore, it
creatively and sustainably promoted and
disseminated the identity of Thai silk
on the world stage, aligning with the
approach of developing students'
potential to become professional
international designers in the
future.
